"Art of Documentary" festival kicks off in Warsaw 21.12.2008
The "Art of Documentary" festival starts in Poland's capital Warsaw today, which sees the best documentary films from countries in central and eastern Europe.
Films are to be shown at the capital's 'Rejs' cinema on Krakowskie Przedmieście, a thoroughfare leading to the heart of the city's Old Town.
This year's edition is represented by the slogan "Republic of Cultures" and is a stage for presenting new ideas in the Old Town of Warsaw. Films are organised according to theme, from the cultural life of Warsaw to life in Poland and Europe.
According to the festival's organisers, there are two films on Belarus, and two about Siberia. Films shown on Monday the 22nd will be concentrated on Polish Jews. They will also be showing "Fotoamator - The Camera Enthusiast", as well as Jolanta Dylewska's latest film, "Po-lin, Scraps of Memory."
More films within the festival will be shown after Christmas betwen the 27th and 30th December 2008.
