Taking a Taxi in Warsaw Warning!!!

You should watch out for " no name " taxis or taxis with not clearly stated prices on the back door window. Why, coz they come up with the price at the end of the route or they charge twice as much as a normal taxi would take...
in case you don't have a choice just agree the price before you get inside the taxi:)
normal price is up to 2 PLN per km...on holidays and at night it's another price, and you pay about 6PLN for just stoping a taxi or ordering it, so lets say a minimum amount is 10 PLN for a ride. it should be around this amount if you take a taxi let's say from Warsaw's Central Railway station to the old city...

a good taxi is the one that would have sign's on top like MPT, WaWa, Eletaxi, Bayer, Sawa and the most important you can find a price tag on the backdoor window, and decide if it's ok for you:)

just to add, like a year ago the new law in poland forced all taxis to install cash registers, so most of them should have them and be able to give you a bill
