Pharmaceuticals

The word for pharmacy in Polish is Apteka.Pharmacies are generally very well stocked but the names of medicines in your home country and in Poland may differ – even if they are produced by the same company. To avoid this problem, make sure you know the generic name of any medicine you take regularly; your doctor may also be able to tell you the names of certain medicines in different countries.

Pharmacies also stock a wide range of homeopathic and other complementary medicines as well as cosmetics. Pharmacists can give advice and treatment for minor ailments/illnesses but prescription drugs can't be purchased without a prescription.

24-hour pharmacies in Warsaw are located at:
- ul. Puławska 39; Tel: +48 22 849 3757
- ul. Lubelska 1 (Warszawa Wschodnia train station); Tel: +48 22 818 6513
- ul. Żeromskiego 13; Tel: +48 22 834 5804
- al. Solidarności 149; Tel: +48 22 620 0818

Hi just found this web today.
Any idea if erythromycin medicine is available with same name in Poland ?
Is there any such link where I can check on my regular OTC medicine names from Asea and see their availability / corresponding names in Poland ? Thanks.
