We're considering a move to Warsaw and I'm curious if there are any specific districts or areas that expat families with kids tend to cluster in?
I've found that to be the case in other countries we've been based in at least. Is there a part of the city with that kind of reputation?

Thanks in advance!

Expats with children tend to live in Wilanow, Konstancin, Stary Mokotow (old mokotow) and Saska Kepa.

These districts are close to international schools and have some of the highest standard housing availbale in Warsaw. Wianow and konstancin tend to offer larger, newer homes but are further away from the center - the american and british scools are nearby.

Mokotow is much closer to the center and has a good selection of new apartment buildings - it's a traditionally prestigious district with some beautiful old houses, nice parks and an overall nice feel to it - I think there's a branch of the british school here.

Saska Kepa is also close to the city center but on the other side of the river; there are lots of embassies, older houses (usually smaller than in Wilanow or Konstancin), some new apartment buildings and a nice atmosphere. The French school is located here along with some international pre-schools.

There are other districts like Zoliborz and Powisle which offer nice housing, scenery and convenient location but the ones I mentioned above are a good place to start searching especially if you're moving with kids and proximity schools is a top priority.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!
Our child is only 2, so I'm more interested in having other mums around for playdates than having the big schools nearby, so it sounds like saska kepa and mokotow are the best bets for starting to look.

There's a group called Mums and Tots which you might want to check out. They're mainly expats and are quite active.

Here's a link to their website: www.mumsandtots.com
